Celebrating 2 Years in Riverview:

Why I’m Hosting a Community Headshot Tour

Two years ago, I unlocked the door to my own little portrait studio for the very first time.

I remember standing there thinking, “Okay… this is real now.” Opening a photography studio in Riverview wasn’t just a business decision. It was a commitment. To this community. To my craft. And honestly — to myself.

I’ve been a photographer for over a decade. I’ve photographed families, individuals, milestones, and businesses for friends, families, strangers, for myself and working under other photography companies. But having my own space felt different. It felt like planting roots.

Over the last two years, I’ve watched so many of you grow not just your family, but professionally as well. I’ve photographed new businesses at their beginning stages, I’ve seen side hustles turn into full-time careers. There's something magical watching confidence grow alongside brands and the people who create them.

So when I thought about how I wanted to celebrate this milestone anniversary, I didn’t want to run a random sale. I wanted to create something that supports the people building this community alongside me.

That’s why I’m hosting the 2-Year Studio Anniversary Headshot Tour in partnership with  our local Foxtail Riverview South.

Why Professional Headshots Matter (More Than You Think)

If you’re a business owner, here’s the truth: Before someone hires you, they look you up.

Customers check your website, they scroll your Instagram and Facebook, they look for relatable personal posts and pages. They decide if you feel established, trustworthy, and professional. And often, the first thing they evaluate is your photo.

A professional headshot isn’t about ego. It’s about authority and showing that you take your work seriously. It’s about aligning your image with the level you’re operating at.

If your business has grown but your photos haven’t… there’s a disconnect. And that disconnect can quietly cost you opportunities.

A Little Personal Truth

For years, I hated being in front of the camera. Which is ironic, right? I was completely comfortable behind it. Directing. Encouraging. Creating beautiful images for other people.

But when it came to my own headshot? I would procrastinate. I’d convince myself it didn’t matter. I’d use an old photo longer than I should have. Until I realized something important:

People want to see who they’re hiring. They want to know who they’re trusting. They want to connect with a face. They want confidence. And if I expected my clients to show up confidently in their businesses, I had to do the same in mine.

Owning my business meant owning my visibility. That shift changed everything.

The 2-Year Studio Anniversary Headshot Tour

To celebrate two years in the studio, I’m offering two opportunities this March.

Why This Is a Big Deal to Me

Because I know what it feels like to hesitate. To feel awkward. To overthink how you look and how your customers see you. And I also know the confidence that comes from finally stepping into visibility.

This community has supported me for two years in my studio space. Hosting this headshot tour is my way of giving that support back to founders, business owners, and professionals in my community. If you’ve been putting off updating your headshot, consider this your nudge. You deserve photos that match your level.

Booking closes March 14.

Let’s celebrate growth, yours and mine, together.
